Tightening the muscles increases the awareness that you are feeling the stored tension. 

Relaxing your muscles, in turn, lets you feel the difference between being tense and being relaxed. 


Start with the forehead muscles. 


Rub it, causing tension. Hold this tension for about five seconds, then release the tension. Imagine a wave taking relaxation through the muscles.
